1️⃣ Blog: What is EFT and How Does It Work?

Introduction:
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), commonly known as tapping therapy, is a holistic method to relieve stress, anxiety, and emotional blockages. By tapping on specific meridian points while focusing on a problem, you can release negative emotions and restore energy balance.
The very first step in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is to focus on the problem you want to release. This can be:

A thought: e.g., “I’m not good enough”

An emotion: e.g., anxiety, sadness, frustration

A physical discomfort: e.g., headache, tension, stomach pain

By clearly identifying the issue, you bring awareness to the emotion or pain, which allows the tapping energy to target and release it effectively.

???? Tip: Take a moment to rate the intensity of the issue from 0–10 before starting. This helps you track progress as you tap.
???? Step 2: Rate the Intensity

After identifying the issue in EFT, it’s important to measure how strongly it affects you. This is done using a simple 0–10 scale:

0 = No discomfort or emotion

10 = Extremely intense, overwhelming feeling

???? Why This Step Matters:

Helps you track progress during the session

Focuses your mind on the specific issue

Makes the tapping more targeted and effective

Tip: Be honest with your rating. Even if the intensity feels high, tapping can help reduce it step by step.
Step 3: Setup Phrase

Once you’ve identified the issue and rated its intensity, the next step is to create a setup phrase. This phrase acknowledges the problem while affirming self-acceptance and compassion.

Example Setup Phrase:
"Even though I feel this, I deeply and completely accept myself."

???? How to Use It:

Say the phrase out loud or silently while tapping on the karate chop point (side of your hand).

Repeat it 3 times to reinforce your intention.

Focus on both the problem and acceptance, allowing your mind and body to release tension.

✨ Why It Works:

Combines acknowledgment of the issue with positive affirmation

Prepares your energy for the tapping sequence

Promotes self-love, healing, and emotional release
???? Step 4: Tapping Points

After repeating your setup phrase, it’s time to tap on specific meridian points using your fingertips. This is the heart of EFT, helping release blocked energy and restore emotional balance.

Common EFT Tapping Points:

Top of Head (TH) – center of the crown

Eyebrow (EB) – beginning of the eyebrow, near the bridge of the nose

Side of Eye (SE) – outer edge of the eye

Under Eye (UE) – below the eye, on the cheekbone

Under Nose (UN) – between nose and upper lip

Chin (CH) – center of the chin, just below the lower lip

Collarbone (CB) – just below the collarbone, near the sternum

Under Arm (UA) – side of the body, about 4 inches below the armpit

???? How to Tap:

Use fingertips to tap lightly, about 5–7 times per point.

Focus on the issue or emotion while tapping.

Move through the points in order, completing the sequence for maximum effect.

✨ Tip: Tap gently but firmly—enough to feel the energy, not to cause pain
